This July, we shipped major upgrades to the authoring experience for Architect authors, gave client admins a powerful new way to bring outside tools into Sparkwise sessions, and made a few participant-facing improvements to captions and troubleshooting. Here are the details:

⚙️ For client admins

The biggest update this month: client admins can now design modules that include activities that take place entirely outside the Sparkwise platform — for example, within your organization's own proprietary AI tools. These activities are orchestrated through Sparkwise by way of screen-sharing and an audible addition to the step timer. Participants are told exactly when to share their screen and what to do, and hear a chime when it's time to move on to the next step.

To support this, our IT network configuration guide has been updated to include the network requirements for screen-sharing.

Elsewhere, the Insights tab now includes AI chats as a new resource type, so client admins can include chat-based activities when requesting Insights reports.

✨ For session participants

Closed captioning for video clips now defaults to match your browser's language, when captions in that language are available (falling back to English if not).

We've also extended support for the new screen-sharing capability: it's now covered in the Tech Check module and in the in-app troubleshooting tools, so you can confirm everything's working before a session that uses it.

And if noise cancellation is ever unavailable, you'll now see an explanation of why, right in the app.

🏛️ For Architect authors

We've made it easier than ever to build and refine modules collaboratively.

The Architect editor is structured as a phase-by-phase workspace, highlighting where to start and revealing later phases as you progress — so authors always know where they are in the process and what's next.

Alongside this, we've added several new capabilities to speed up authoring and collaboration:

• Comment on a specific passage of text within a step by selecting it and clicking the comment button in the toolbar
• Duplicate modules across sub-organizations
• Import spreadsheets (multiple file types are supported) as raw Materials
• Ask agent Archie to add, remove, reorder, and move activities within a module

We've also moved resource editing directly into the Blueprint step, with full support for realtime collaboration and auto-saving, so co-authors can build out resources together without breaking their flow.
