Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Sparkwise different from other learning & development providers?
We enable a new type of workplace learning that is fun, social, collaborative — yet affordable.
It's not like the typical online modules that you click through alone. Instead, you learn by solving live 1-hour challenges in small groups.
You dive into diverse scenarios that take you out of your day-to-day and make you think beyond your current role.
Our platform facilitates many different types of content and activities — including short videos, simulated problem solving, group discussions, self-reflections, and more.
Beyond practicing skills, you get to connect with colleagues and have meaningful conversations you don't normally get to have.
How does it work logistically?
You and your team can pick any topic from our library and schedule it anytime.
The participants get a calendar invite with a link to access the session.
When the scheduled time comes, the participants use their computer to join our platform, where they are matched into small groups of 2-4 people.
The learning doesn't stop after the session. Participants make a plan to apply what they learned, and we reinforce their insights regularly. We also give the managers impact dashboards and coaching tips. Finally, participants have ongoing access to summary content from past sessions.
What is the ideal group composition?
Every session is done in groups of 2-4 participants, with the ideal size being 3-4. We keep the group small so that everyone actively contributes.
This scales to cohorts of any size: if there are more than 4 people, you simply run more sessions concurrently.
We recommend mixing up participants across different departments, levels, etc. Participants love working with new colleagues and hearing diverse perspectives.
What underpins your learning approach?
Our learning approach is grounded in our experience designing and leading iconic L&D programs at McKinsey, Fortune 500 companies, and startups.
We integrate the science of active learning, problem-based learning, and team-based learning to create the most engaging, impactful experiences possible.
As a leader, how will I know that Sparkwise actually works?
You will see the impact of our programs in multiple ways.
First, we will send you a summary of what your teams have learned and suggestions on how you can help them apply it to their work.
Second, we give you access to an impact dashboard that tracks learner engagement, satisfaction, and takeaways.
Finally, you will start seeing a difference in how your team members engage with you — whether it be structuring problems, communicating, and leading meetings, and more.
Who builds the content?
We have a team of vetted training experts who build the content with us. These experts include former Learning & Development leaders at McKinsey, talent advisors at fast-growing startups, certified executive coaches, and more. We are expanding our expert base as we grow.
We continuously monitor and improve our training content to make sure participants get to the right aha's.
What is my role as a leader?
You do not need to show up to the sessions to facilitate or monitor it (though you are certainly welcome to enroll yourself as a participant).
The best way you can elevate your team's learning is by (1) matching the team with the right topics, (2) setting the right mindsets and expectations, and (3) reinforcing their development in 1-1s and team conversations.
We offer you support across all these.
Who is your professional development designed for?
Our sessions are suited for working professionals across levels — ranging from new graduates to rising executives.
What is the best way to use your solution?
Most leaders create a systematic learning journey for their team. We help you create a sequence of topics and a regular schedule. For example, "every first Wednesday of the month at 1pm is Sparkwise time." This way, everything runs on autopilot (including onboarding, sending invites, managing rescheduling, doing follow-ups, etc.).
With that said, we are flexible and can accommodate different needs. If you want to create shorter "bootcamps," we help you do so. We can also integrate Sparkwise into your existing L&D initiatives (new hire/manager bootcamps, etc.) to bring more hands-on practice and interactivity to your programs.
