This month, we've made meaningful improvements across the board: smoothing out the audio/video joining experience for participants, making group matchmaking smarter and faster, and expanding the toolset available to client admins for managing programs at scale. Here are the details:
For session participants
We've focused on reducing friction at two critical moments: getting into a session and getting matched with a group.
First, the Join Video modal now features an improved camera and microphone permission flow. If permissions are denied or blocked, participants will see a clear call-to-action and step-by-step instructions for how to resolve the issue. No more dead ends or confusing browser prompts.
Second, participants who don't have a microphone available now have more options. Phone dial-in and browser video can be used simultaneously, with automatic audio handoff between the two. This means participants can see their group on screen while listening and speaking through their phone, creating a smoother experience for those in challenging audio environments.
Finally, we've made several improvements to dynamic group matchmaking: group sizes are now better distributed, solo registrants and late arrivers who don't have a match path are routed more quickly, and groups begin forming earlier for participants who join before the scheduled session start time. Altogether, these changes mean less waiting and a more seamless entry into the group experience.
For client admins
This month brings a set of new capabilities focused on program routing, self-registration, and enterprise-scale user management.
Post-session redirect links can now be set at the session-cluster level, and will automatically cascade to every session in that cluster. This saves time for admins running large programs with consistent post-session routing needs.
Self-registration gets two new enhancements in the session scheduling wizard. After scheduling, admins will now see a success screen displaying both the sign-up link and embed code, making it easier to share or integrate the registration flow. Admins can also now limit self-registration to participants within a specific cohort, giving programs an additional layer of access control.
On the user management side, deactivating a user now automatically cleans up all of that user's future session enrollments. No manual cleanup required after off-boarding.
For enterprise organizations, we've added support for SSO-based user auto-provisioning via SCIM. When configured, this automatically activates and deactivates Sparkwise accounts in real time based on changes in your organization's identity provider, whether that's Okta, Microsoft Entra, or another SCIM-compatible system. Contact us if you'd like to set this up for your organization.
That's the update from May!
